I recently lost my grandmother.  She was what one would call a landscaping fanatic.  Every fall when the leaves begin to change, I think about my grandma and receiving her phone calls to come rake up the leaves.  It didn’t matter if only one leaf had fallen; she was calling to have her yard cleaned up.  It still makes me smile thinking about seeing her in the window watching me diligently raking up her leaves.  This fall I won’t be raking up her leaves, but I know that she is up in heaven asking one of the angels to rake up the leaves for her.

           A few years ago, a good friend was killed in a boating accident.  The sudden loss of my friend made me realize that we cannot take any day for granted.  We need to live each day to the fullest and to tell your loved ones constantly that we love them and how special they are to us.  You never know what can happen in the blink of an eye, so never take one second for granted.
